President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a holiday greeting on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland. The President’s greeting is presented in full below.
Dear soldiers and sergeants, officers and generals!
Veterans of our Armed Forces!
Dear compatriots!
First of all, dear ones, through you, I sincerely congratulate our people on the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland.
We are all happy that this auspicious day is turning into a national holiday in the literal sense, a symbol of high qualities such as patriotism, courage and bravery, which have been characteristic of our people since ancient times.
It should be noted that the strength of our national army lies in the unity and solidarity of our military servicemen, who are determined and capable in everything, and our tolerant and noble people. We feel this truth today more than ever.
I am sure that as long as there is such a great source of spiritual power, no evil force can interfere with the peaceful and peaceful life of our country, the independence of our Motherland, and will never be able to turn us back from the path of our democratic reforms.
We are rightly proud of our valuable and brave soldiers – the brave sons of our country who are faithful to their sacred oath and honorably perform their duty both on the ground and in the sky.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the parents of fearless and truly patriotic soldiers and officers serving in the ranks of our Armed Forces, as well as to their kind and patient wives who share all the joys and worries of military life with their spouses.
We see in your image a great spiritual force that is a mountain of support for our national army. We once again acknowledge with great pleasure that you also have a worthy contribution in increasing the defense power of our Motherland on today’s great day.
Dear friends!
Four years ago, we defined the most important and priority directions for the radical reform of the military construction industry in Uzbekistan. On this basis, we are carrying out large-scale work to strengthen the defense capabilities of our country and develop our Armed Forces.
In the past short period, a new defense doctrine was adopted, the composition and tasks of military structures were thoroughly revised, the system of commanding the troops was improved, and there was a great effort to provide our national army with modern weapons and equipment. important projects were implemented.
For the first time in our history, a unique system – military-administrative sectors – was established. This method of work made it possible to actively involve the local state authorities in strengthening the defense power of our country. Most importantly, it serves to ensure the great idea that “Army and people are one body and soul”.
As a result of such efforts, today the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan are a real guarantee of the independence of our republic and reliable protection of the peaceful and peaceful life of our people.
The most important thing is that our national army has become the support and support of the country, capable of striking against any threat and danger, and an important institution for educating young people and military personnel in the spirit of patriotism and loyalty.
Of course, 2020 was a year of serious tests for our country as well as for all countries in the world. We faced the threat of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as unexpected natural and man-made disasters in Bukhara and Syrdarya regions.
In such a tense situation, our Armed Forces adopted the noble call of our grandfather Amir Temur: “It is your duty to be a medicine for the pain of the nation.”
We all note with infinite gratitude that they became closer to our people, increased mobilization, and adequately fulfilled the important tasks assigned to them in a short period of time.
Especially in this process, military doctors and our servicemen, law enforcement agencies and rescue service personnel have demonstrated real bravery and courage, and high professional skills deserve special praise and recognition.
In such a complex situation, the establishment of the Military Medical Academy of the Armed Forces allows us to quickly and effectively solve the urgent tasks set before us in terms of protecting the health and life of the population.
This new academy, which is the only one in our region, serves to train highly qualified and specialized personnel in the field of military medicine, participating in the elimination of the consequences of emergency situations.
In the academy, innovative developments in accordance with world standards and training-laboratory rooms based on advanced technologies and the most modern material and technical base are being created.
The measures taken to improve the organizational structures of our national army made it possible to further increase the combat readiness, military power and potential of the troops.
Our brave men and women show their will to victory in international military training, army and sports competitions, and prove that they are the worthy successors of our great ancestors. .
Dear compatriots!
Despite the impact of the global economic crisis, we consistently continue our systematic work on social support for our military personnel and their family members, beautification of military towns, and construction of modern infrastructures.
In addition, many new jobs have been created for family members of military personnel. More than 3 thousand military pensioners were employed. More than a thousand children of military personnel were allocated state grants for their education in higher educational institutions.
There is no doubt that in the “Year of Youth Support and Public Health Promotion” we will strengthen our work in this regard and take it to a completely new level.
At the recently held Youth Forum of Uzbekistan, in our Address to the Oliy Majlis and our people, we clearly defined the measures in this direction.
In new Uzbekistan, we will fully mobilize all our strength and capabilities so that the young generation will grow up to be physically and spiritually healthy, devoted and enthusiastic people to the Motherland, learn from our glorious history and live with pride.
In the current situation, when ideological struggles are intensifying in the world, and various dangers and threats are increasing in the information space, we must all be constantly aware, sensitive, and active citizens.
In particular, our military personnel should strengthen their cooperation with the state and public organizations in order to form ideological immunity in persons and their children who have lost their way and were influenced by foreign ideas and return them to a healthy lifestyle and the right path. .
Dear brave and brave defenders of the Motherland!
Today, at a time when complex conflicts and conflicts continue in far and near regions of the world, we must organize our work to ensure peace and security in our beloved Uzbekistan more effectively.
In particular, strengthening our defense capabilities, providing the troops with modern weapons and equipment, wide use of information technologies in the management of units, improving combat training and professional skills will remain our priority tasks in the future.
Without a doubt, with our joint efforts, we are fully capable of achieving such noble goals and goals, of preserving the peaceful work and peaceful life of our people, and the clear sky of our country like the apple of an eye.
Dear friends!
Once again, I heartily congratulate you, dear ones, and your family members on the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland.
I wish you all good health, family happiness and happiness, great success in your honorable and responsible work.
May the high trust and respect of our people always be with you!
Shavkat Mirziyoyev
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces
